Feast & Fettle is seeking a well-trained part time KITCHEN ASSOCIATE to join Cold Line operations at our production facility located in East Providence.

What does a Kitchen Associate at F&F do?

Each day of the weekly production cycle, your Sous Chef will work with your team to facilitate the portioning and packaging of our menu items (entrees, sides, salads, soups, kids meals, etc). Our Kitchen Associate team transforms the prepared food from our Hot Line into the complete, delivery-ready, fully prepared menu items our members receive for home delivery.

This work includes:

  • Prepping workstation and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen
  • Following cold line recipes with consistently high attention to detail
  • In addition to packaging prepared food from the Hot Line, our Kitchen Associates also prepare and assemble cold menu items such as the Kale Caesar Salad, Sandwiches, Kids Meals and fruits.
  • Attention to product quality from start to finish
  • Kitchen Associates play a key part in quality assurance and are responsible for identifying any sub-par quality in the food they are handling to prevent any food items that do not meet the Feast & Fettle standard from leaving the production facility
  • Package final product according to packing specifications, including garnishes
  • Often working in pairs or teams, Kitchen Associates use packing cards to guide their work according to the intended presentation of a menu item. This can include packing by the each (1-4 chicken breasts) or by the weight (40-160 grams)
  • Attention to detail is critical for ensuring that the correct portions are packed into the right container and labeled correctly
  • Follow health and safety guidelines
  • Temperature check food and log properly
  • Assist with cleaning the kitchen and workspace at the end and throughout each shift
  • Assist with organization-wide demands of the weekly production cycle, including: labeling and packaging, pro-actively maintaining the F&F standard of cleanliness and organization of our equipment and storage across the facility, and helping coworkers across teams, with an all-hands-on-deck attitude reflective of our We Got You values.

What does a strong applicant for this position have?

  • 2+ years work experience
  • Experience in a culinary setting preferred (quick service, restaurant, catering)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Able to maintain rigorous high quality and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. Multiple times/day
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours)
  • Desire to contribute positively to your coworkers and to the company
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively
  • Very strong work ethic and enthusiastic attitude
  • Tech savvy is a major plus! We like to integrate tech into all aspects of the business
  • Positive attitude; we believe a negative attitude inhibits everything about what we are trying to accomplish as a team.
