What will the Position do?
The Prep Supervisor will report to the Prep manager and lead our food preparation operations in
our newly commissioned prep kitchen. The Prep Supervisor will oversee their shift of ingredient
and component preparation. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of
quality, safety, and efficiency.
What does a strong applicant for this position have?
1. Leadership and Team Management:
○ Supervise and lead a team of food preparers and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and
productive work environment.
2. Food Preparation Oversight:
○ Manage the preparation of ingredients and components according to specifications
and company recipes.
○ Ensure consistency in food quality across all products.
○ Assist in food preparation as required.
3. Quality Assurance:
○ Maintain quality control processes to ensure compliance with food
safety regulations and company standards.
○ Conduct regular inspections of prepared items and ingredients to ensure freshness
and quality.
4. Inventory and Supply Management:
○ Maintain inventory management and organization of ingredients and supplies.
○ Monitor usage and waste to optimize cost efficiency and reduce spoilage.
5. Health and Safety Compliance:
○ Ensure all food safety regulations and health guidelines are strictly followed by the
team.
○ Lead training sessions on proper hygiene practices and equipment handling.
6. Collaboration with Other Departments:
○ Work closely with chefs, purchasing, planning and R&D to coordinate production
schedules and meet the demands of the production kitchen..
7. Operational Efficiency:
○ Analyze workflow and processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and
productivity.
○ Implement best practices for food preparation and kitchen operations.
Working Conditions:
● The role requires standing for extended periods and may involve lifting heavy items.
● Must be comfortable working in a commercial kitchen environment with various food
preparation equipment.
